Born in East Africa, Maria is a belly dancer of Goan Portuguese decent.

Maria has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Latin American and took up The Art of Egyptian dance 16 years ago.

Maria has travelled extensively and danced in many Arabic countries with Egypt being her first love. Maria has performed in both Cairo and Luxor and has wooed Arabic audiences in Egypt with her authentic feel of the dance.

Maria has gained recognition and acceptance in Egypt and is recognised for her high standards of performance and level of teaching with Egypt's renowned Master Dance Instructors.

Maria's workshops are inspiring- her style classic, earthy and grounded whilst her flow and grace uplift each movement with passion.

In England Maria is recognised as one of the leading Master teachers in Egyptian Dance and is highly sought after for her teaching and performances.

Maria has been the featured guest dancer for numerous

Arabic Dance events in

  England, Scotland and Wales & abroad.

e.g. International Belly dance Congress + Competition Judge ,

 Mosaic, Fantasia, Belly Dance Super Stars, Majma , Sopen ,

 North Norfolk belly dance, Kasbah , Majma ,WADA and also represented the U.K. at the International Festival Oriental Berlin 2007

Maria has also appeared on television in the UK & Turkish National television.

Maria performs at prestigious engagements with Arabic bands in the UK and abroad and is the organiser of the Midlands Arabic Dance Extravaganza & Director of

The Nile Dance Company and also Teaches and Performs at numerous

 Arabic dance events in the UK and Egypt
